Translators

We work with a small group of the world’s top legal, financial and technical translators some of whom we have known for decades. They are widely recognised as the best in their fields. Many of them hold advanced degrees, including law degrees, and have experience in specific practice areas in addition to their training as translators.

We also work with a select network of editors, proofreaders, terminologists and other professionals to best manage your assignments.

Clarity.

We have taken our name from an international symbol for clarity because we believe that being clear and honest is the most important service we can offer.

In practice that means we give you a quick, clear answer to your questions. We will tell you what’s achievable, what’s advisable and what the best course of action for your needs may be.

First we will make sure we understand your requirements. For example, do you have a document that needs to be perfect for submittal to court or do you need a draft for information purposes only?

Then we consider the specific subject matter and assign a translator with the relevant background while leveraging the geographic extent of our network to meet your deadline.

Any questions that arise during the process are dealt with swiftly and efficiently.

We follow-up post delivery to make sure you are satisfied.

That depends on the size of the document. We charge per word or by the hour depending on the nature of the assignment; per word for new translations, hourly for revisions and other types of assignments such as summarisation. We will review and assess your request quickly and provide you with a written quote detailing all costs before proceeding with the work.

You tell us what your deadline is and we’ll advise on the best way to meet or beat it while maintaining a high quality and controlling costs. Alternatively, we can provide standard and expedited time-frames.

FAQs.

We can provide sworn translations in Germany or certified translations in the UK or US.

We take confidentiality, security and data protection seriously.

We understand confidentiality is a core tenet of the legal industry and have designed our procedures accordingly.

We have Confidentiality Agreements in place with our translators, editors and proofreaders.

It is also our policy to keep the identity of our clients anonymous.

Should you require specific measures based on the particular needs of your case or end-client we are happy to discuss them.

We use Dropbox for the storage and transmission of files. This allows all downloads to be tracked and permissions revoked or blocked remotely. Dropbox is used by many of the world’s leading financial institutions and law firms.

Silfra - Iceland

The Silfra rift is located in the Þingvellir National Park in Iceland, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The rift forms part of the tectonic boundary between the North American and Eurasian continental plates. It is best known for its intensely clear water which takes between 30 and 100 years to filter through the volcanic rocks from the lake into the rift.

At Silfra Translations our goal is to build a clear bridge of trust between our clients and translators.
